  We've decided to have a baby! (Advice needed)

  i know that many of you gave me the advice to wait until i'm done with school, but what can i say, i'm stubborn .

  please share your pre-pregnancy and pregnancy tips that either made things smoother or things you wish you has done to make things easier.

  i also want opinions on such things as epidurals, circumcision, nutrition, breast-feeding, money saving tips, etc.

  It hurts. Everyone said "Oh you'll forget it." I spent the next nine months beggin my doc to PLEASE give me medicine to stop the pain of when I gave birth. Most people I talked to said "Oh.. you'll forget it when your little baby is there." I went into labor and went to the hospital. It was the most horrendous pain that I ever had in my whole life, and I never wanted to go through that again. Ever. Childbirthing is the most amazing thing you ever went through: your body just kind of takes over, and forget YOU and your pain, and the baby is just BORN without any help from you. Your body just does it all automatically. However, it hurts like you wouldn't believe, and I just wanted to be DEAD rather than experience the pain again. That's my take on it. I hated it, and I'd never go through it again if anybody PAID me. It sucks! I remember every single pain that I had.. how bad it was.

  as i'm having some serious differences with some friends about the born again attitude i would like to get some information on their origins, practices and what they actually believe help me somone please .

  Like Jesus said: No one goes before him, except through me. Our relationship with Jesus is within our hearts. To be born again, means to have accepted the eternal life offered by Christ in exchange for our loyalty to him. It doesn't take a church to accept that, you either do or you don't. Our relationship with our Creator is a very personal one, and one that is very precious. Doctrine is good, and it can be bandied about all it can, but the very essence of our "religion" per se, is that we accept what Christ has offered us, freely acknowledging that he is our savior and we accepted his gift of life by grace. It's very simple. It's hard for JW's to understand, because they believe that you have to work HOURS, and do this and that, to achieve that salvation, and THEN you might not even get it. With born-agains, you just accept that free gift and try to abide by the golden rule. God knows, believe me, your heart condition.

  Hugs! I know how these broadcasts can bring up those old feelings of anger, fear, hate and rage. I get them, too. It's sometimes so confusing when they resurface, and at the same time it's reaffirming, in the way that it makes us never forget how helpless and lost we felt as children when those things happened to us. It reminds us that this evil is perpetrated every day for some child, and some child is feeling the same way we are feeling at that moment. It reminds us that nothing is accomplished until it is stopped. Your feelings (and be glad that you have them -- sociopaths don't have feelings!) are valid and proof positive that you have a heart and care about children who are abused, and another reminder to be brave and not to stop doing what you have been doing: which is talking about it, and educating people about how destructive it (the cult and their policies) is to children. You have done a great job with this, at much personal cost, and I applaud you. Never be fearful.. but only realize that these feelings are bound to come up again and again, and only affirm that you are human, with a heart, and that you feel, and love, and care. It hurts sometimes, sure, and I don't know that that will ever go away... but doing something positive with that energy is what it's all about.. and you have done a great job of it! Much love and understanding...

  Egads I'm so jealous of you people that can just fall asleep while doing something! I go to bed at night and I'm *lucky* to sleep three hours because I'm always (24/7) wired for sound! sigh

  "Jehovah's Witnesses Really Don't Love People, Do They?"

  this was a comment that was made to me when i expressed that witnesses shun or disfellowship people and refuse to have any normal contact with them, or that they "mark" them and give a public speech about ones that even date a non-jehovah's witness.

  after the statement was made, i stated that witnesses were more interested in numbers such as how many knocked on doors or went to a meeting......................it is a sad but true commentary.

  What are the rules the WTS pharisees have burdended JWs with?

  in another thread, mini questioned why the wts does not see that the gb and elders are like the pharisees.

  what do you all think are the "rules" jws have been given that smack of pharisaical (is that a word?

  ) burdening and/or hypocricy?.

  I always wondered about that! I've been out twenty or more years, and quick builds were just beginning when I left. What is the purpose of this rule (duct tape on t-shirt with logo)? Where does it originate? Literature, or just word of mouth?

  there has been a lot of patriotic talk going on which has caused a lot of arguments, i figured instead of all this badness it would be cool if we could share with each other why we love where we are and what we are part of so much and what causes us to be patriotic.. i love where i live so much so i wanted to share with you all a bit of my life.

  Thanks for bringing that up! We live a wonderful life, and we are so lucky. I guess sometimes we take it for granted, and that therein may be the problem. We just don't ever think that this country would ever turn into a dictatorship. We can't comprehend. I love that I can speak my mind, be it pro or anti government.. I am so lucky that i have this privilege. I love my country, and I am so thankful for the troops that are willing to go into battle with their lives on the line and save ths freedom for me.

  So Many Directions To Go

  currently i'm experiencing, for the first time, the ability to make and form opinions on my own but i'm having trouble.

  with no one to tell me what to do and what to think, i find there are so many places in the world that need help.

  and even if i decided to follow something and make a difference in that area, what can i do to really make a difference?

  I was a very lonely JW girl in school, not having much self-esteem or confidence. For one of my school projects, we were told to write a screen play. Mine was chosen out of the whole class to be acted out in our theatre class. The teacher wrote a wonderful note to me on the inside page of my folder. It said "You are one of my most talented students, and I am truly fortunate to have you in my class." It made a difference, all the difference, in my isolated world. It made me know that I was worth something, and I had something very special to offer. Yes, one person can change the world. If only for one other person. That's all that counts. If you can offer to enhance one other person's world, then it's all worth it. Every bit of it. I never forgot that teacher to this day, and I think that God has a special place for him..
